I have no doubt that human existence and activity is having an environmental impact on this beautiful planet EARTH. You have to be nuts to think otherwise. You also have to be f#ckwit to think we are doomed - we already have the answers to our problems - its just a matter of business - oh and population control?
I really love nature, ive traveled the globe - it has given me the most memorable and life changing experiences i can recall, so i take offense to any activity which damages this beauty - simple really. My stance has nothing to do with 'climate change' but a deep appreciation of the unique-ness of our planet in this huge expanse of our solar system - and our future - which our younger kids who have no interest in material pursuit understand deeply
Take a peek through the writings of Henry David Thoreau, John Muir, Jack London and others who revere nature and you will get a great sense of this emotion - better yet, get your ass out of the city and into the wilderness.
It is one of the reasons i ditched the conventional office and retreated to a mobile office in a converted van with a remote team. I hope the recent Climate Strike was not just some social media trend but a real mode of thinking. I hope those businesses (and architects) who declared allegiance to this climate emergency practice what they preach - not just sign a petition and attend a protest........ in the words of Henry - "what is the use of a house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?"
But then again - theres always Plan B.....
